To know the power of the resurrection, you must first understand the power he possessed in life.
“My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,”
Philippians 3:10 HCSB
“But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ. More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ — the righteousness from God based on faith. My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead. Not that I have already reached the goal or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus. Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead”
Philippians 3:7-13 HCSB
I have set under many well-versed and great Sunday school teachers, theologians, and pastors, all of whom taught YAHShua Ha Messiach (commonly known as Jesus Christ of Nazareth) was one hundred percent man and one hundred percent God. He became a sin bear for all man’s sins so we may have a relationship with His Father again. That YAHShua (Jesus) received 39 stripes after remaining silent through a mockery of a trial. He carried his cross to the hill far away, surrendered to crucifixion, died, was buried, and rose gain, and is now seated at the right hand of our Heavenly Father.
Now, let’s rewind to understand the source of the power.
It all started with a promise from Elohim (God) in the book of Bereshit (English: Genesis) chapter and verse 3:15, where Elohim states, “I will put hostility between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” [Genesis 3:15 HCSB]. As we look into this verse, we know a woman does not produce seed, so we must further study the Bible to understand how this will be possible.
In Isaiah 9:6, we are told, “For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace. (HCSB)” A familiar scripture often shared around the Christian Holiday of Christmas, where the church erroneously recognizes the birth of YAHShua (Jesus) instead of what was his conception. That is another piece of writing! A child born would be the seed given to a woman (Mary) to bring forth a child. A child whom Yahweh blessed with the breath of life, a soul and mind untainted by the corruption of man’s seed since the sinful deed of Adam. A child is known to be the second Adam. So, the question remains: if YAHShua (Jesus) was the child born, then who was the son given?
In Hebrews 10:4-7 [HCSB], it reads:
“For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
Therefore, as He was coming into the world, He said:
You did not want sacrifice and offering,
but You prepared a body for Me.
You did not delight
in whole burnt offerings and sin offerings.
Then I said, “See—
it is written about Me
in the volume of the scroll—
I have come to do Your will, God!
Here, we understand a body was prepared for someone to undo the sin of the first Adam and establish the second Adam.
In further writing in the book of John. While attending the Universal Hagar Spiritual Church, the altar girls must recite John 1: 1-14 every Sunday. I wonder if the congregation realized they were reading about two different people in that passage. I will confess for years, I didn’t! Let’s break it down to understand whom this “son given” is a little closer. Clearly stated throughout the verses in plain sight, our teachings have closed our minds to the true revelation of knowledge.
“In all your getting, get understanding by studying to show yourself approve…”
In the beginning was the Word,
John 1: 1-3 HCSB
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
All things were created through Him,
and apart from Him not one thing was created
that has been created.
In examining verses 1-3, we have already explained that YAHShua (Jesus) was the child born, so there is no way he could be in the beginning. However, since we use titles instead of names, it is difficult to see that we are talking about the son given. Follow me for a minute.
In Genesis, Elohim (God) said let us make man in our image. Elohim is the plurality of his attributes Yahweh (Father), Adonai (Son), and Ruach Ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit). When you have done further study, you understand each attribute’s position (job), but to bring this point to closure, Adonai, the son, was the spoken word. Every thought of Yahweh was articulated, spoken by Adonai, and performed by Ruach Ha Kodesh. If we correctly read John 1:1-3, we would understand that we are not talking about YAHShua (Jesus) being given, but Adonai, who was given. Take a read for a better understanding and clearer intention.
In the beginning was Adonai,
John 1:1-3 HCSB
and Adonai was with Elohim,
and Adonai was Elohim.
Adonai was with Elohim in the beginning.
All things were created through Adonai,
and apart from Adonai, not one thing was created
that has been created.
Now that we know who the verses are talking about, let’s continue reading with that understanding when YAHShua (Jesus) enters the passage.
Life was in Him,
John 1:4-9 HCSB
and that life was the light of men.
That light shines in the darkness,
yet the darkness did not overcome it. There was a man named John
who was sent from Elohim (God).
He came as a witness
to testify about the light
so that all might believe through him]
He was not the light,
but he came to testify about the light.
The true light, who gives light to everyone,
was coming into the world.
To fully explain the relationship between YAHShua (Jesus) and John the Baptist would remove us from our purpose. But Elohim sent a herald to pronounce His son’s coming and prepare them to recognize the truth.
He was in the world,
John 1: 10-13 HCSB
and the world was created through Him,
yet the world did not recognize Him.
He came to His own,
and His own people did not receive Him.
But to all who did receive Him,
He gave them the right to be children of Elohim (God),
to those who believe in His name,
who were born,
not of blood,
or of the will of the flesh,
or of the will of man,
but of Elohim (God).
Because of man’s written laws and ordinances, which overlayed the Torah, even the Levitical tribe, who were put in place to be the teachers of the Torah, could not recognize the living Word (Adonai) while he was walking among them.
Adonai {The WORD} became flesh
John 1: 14 HCSB
and took up residence among us.
We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
Verse 14, “The Word,” which we understand to be Adonai, became flesh, the Father’s only begotten son. As stated in Isaiah 9:6, “a child given, and a child born,” which would correlate to Hebrew 10:5b, which says, “You prepared to body for me,” we understand YAHShua, the son born, is the flesh suit that permitted Adonai the son given to come into the world He created; though utterly rejected because children of Israel did not recognize the prophecy as written in the Torah.
Today though we esteem YAHShua (Jesus), we don’t fully acknowledge the full embodiment of his personage either. When we teach only about the FLESH suit, the child born, we never give believers a complete understanding of the child given. That understanding is critical for explaining how YAHShua (Jesus) can be 100% man with full knowledge of our feelings, struggles, and temptations, and yet know no sin and be 100% “God.” By interchanging YAHShua in place of Adonai, as if YAHShua was there at the beginning of time and created all things, it brings clarity when we say now that lives can see the face of Elohim. Yet, we confused YAHShua (Jesus) with Adonai before the resurrection, stating he has.
Adonai was the son given, who dwelt in the son born YAHShua (Jesus) for 33 ½ years so that they may show humanity how to live according to the Father’s will based on the Torah. YAHShua (Jesus) spoke his Father’s words for thirty-three and half years, knowing his purpose was to be humanity’s ultimate sin sacrifice. The second Adam!
There is a song, “Mary Did You Know,” but the question remains why we don’t know till this day who Mary’s son is, yet everything she was told that she held close to her heart, we know as the Scriptures and Verses which are Testimonies of the Writ [the first five books of the Old Testament]. He was born on the 10th of Tishrei during the Yahweh season of Sukkot (not in the dead of winter on December 25th / Tevet 13th) until his death on the 14th of Nisan during Yahweh’s season of Pesach (sadly called Good Friday).
Another beautiful fact about Adonai and YAHShua is their positions here on earth and in heaven.
As YAHShua walked among his own, who did not receive him. We now understand from the moment of YAHShua’s conception (Luke1:39-45) until he gave up his Spirit (when Adonai left to continue His mission), both sons remained as one. Until the end of the 14th day, Adonai resided within YAHShua.
On the third day, as prophesied, the body of YAHShua was raised again and transformed. Now YAHShua lives in Adonai. He sits in the right hand of the Elohim, making intercession for you and me.
